Teaching in the AI Era: Innovation, Creativity and Human-centered Learning

Objectives 01

"Encourage pre-service teachers in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao to integrate human-centered approaches to AI education within K–12 curricula across their respective contexts"

Competition Format (2026)

1st Round of Competition

EdUHK, SCNU, UM, Normal universities, and universities providing teacher education programmes will host an inter-university competition. Each university will shortlist  1-3 representative team(s) for the Final Round.

Students should form a team of 2-4 people to design and plan one lesson for up to 40 minutes (including a Lesson Plan, Teaching Schedule, Assessment Criteria/Rubrics and Teaching Materials) that integrates artificial intelligence into their chosen topic and subject (any discipline) of the K-12 curriculum in their context.

Final Competition

Each university’s shortlisted team(s) will present their lesson plans in up to five minutes on-site in Macao. Student teams can deliver the presentation in Chinese or English.

 

The judging panel will comprise representatives from each participating university. A seventh criterion is added in this round to assess student teams’ quality of presentation.

Eligibility

  • All full-time and part-time undergraduate students majoring in education and related fields from EdUHK, SCNU, and UM, as well as those from normal universities and institutions offering teacher education programs in Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao, are invited to participate.

  • Students shall participate in teams of 2 to 4 people. Each student team shall submit a lesson plan that integrates AI human-centered approach into the K-12 curriculum.

​

  • Postgraduate students are NOT permitted to participate in the competition.
